XI ISO DATAGRO New York Sugar & Ethanol Conference

Aiming to discuss the main issues of the global Sugar and Ethanol industries and to bring together representatives of the international community of producers, traders, brokers, investors, and from the financial market in general, the International Sugar Organization (ISO) and DATAGRO will hold, on May 10th, 2017 the 11th edition of the ISO DATAGRO New York Sugar & Ethanol Conference. Recognised as the official technical event of the New York Sugar Dinner, since its first edition, the Conference has become an established tradition in the global sugar and ethanol calendar.

Last year more than 400 leaders from 22 countries gathered, for an intense day of lectures and debates with the most renowned specialists in the sugar and ethanol markets in the world. With simultaneous interpretation in English, Portuguese and Spanish, the Conference takes place at the elegant Hilton Midtown in New York.

Emmanuel Jayet has been Head of Research at Sucden since 2011. He was previously responsible for Agricultural Commodities Research at SocGen, based in London. He also spent seven years at BNP Paribas in the Energy & Commodity business where his sectorial expertise helped bringing financing deals to fruition. Prior to that, he also had experience in strategic consulting in agriculture. Emmanuel graduated from AgroParisTech, France's top engineering school for life and agro-food sciences, specializing in agriculture economics and holds a post-graduate degree in finance and banking from Paris-Dauphine University.

Helder Luiz Gosling. Ivan graduated in Business Administration in Rio de Janeiro. During his career, he worked on foreign trade. Jeff has been with JSG Commodities since January 2005, when he started as an Assistant Trader. A graduate from Fordham University and Fairfield Prep, 8 years worth of Jesuit education, Jeff has solidified his role within the Sugar trading community covering both the US Domestic and World market futures markets. He is now the Vice President of JSG and manages the futures desk that executes trades for Sugar, Cocoa & Grains for a wide array of clientele. He is a featured speaker at JSG’s annual Global Commodities symposium analyzing the world sugar market. Jeff also serves as a Vice President of the Sugar Club of New York. Michael McDougall Vice President, Newedge, New York, USA

Is a Senior Vice President at Newedge USA,LLC where he heads the Latin American Production Group. His desk concentrates primarily on Brazil and provides pricing and risk management services for a wide range of agricultural and financial products, but with an emphasis on sugar and ethanol. Michael lived in Brazil for 14 years where, in 1986, he began his career as a broker at Penfield brokerage, one of the pioneer futures brokerages in the country. Dr. Nastari holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Agricultural Economics, from Iowa State University. Former Executive Director and President of the Board of the Brazilian Association of Automotive Engineers (AEA), from 2000 to 2002, during the 1980s he helped the design of ethanol specifications which enabled the use of ethanol in fuel injected engines. He has served as member of the Technical Committees of Brazil’s Interministerial Council on Sugar and Alcohol, National Energy Commission, and Commission for Reexam of the Energy Matrix. He has assisted the Brazilian government in Energy Planning (1984-86 and 1991-93), industry deregulation (1997-1999), trade negotiations (1991-2004), and trade disputes. Representative of the Civil Society Specialist in Energy at the National Council on Energy Policy, at the Federal Government of Brazil, designated for the period of 2016 to 2018. With extensive experience in trade negotiations and trade disputes at the International Trade Commission and the World Trade Organization, Dr. Nastari has acted before the Brazilian Government as Chief Economist in the trade disputes involving ethanol exports to the United States (US ITC), and subsidized sugar exports from the European Union, European Union bananas import regime, and Brazilian regime for the import of used and retreaded tires (WTO). He is Arbitrator at the “Camara FGV de Arbitragem” (Arbitration Chamber of the Getulio Vargas Foundation), and has acted as Expert Testimony in many cases, at this Chamber and at ICC, the International Chamber of Commerce, in Paris. Lead author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) - Second Assessment Report (2AR), and Consultant for Biomass Energy other than Wood, to the World Energy Council. Co-founder and Member of the Sustainable Biofuels Consensus (Bellagio Consensus), Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center, Bellagio, Italy, 2008, and Participant of the Bled Strategic Forum, since 2008 in Bled, Slovenia. Dr. Nastari is Member of the World Sugar Committee, at ICE Futures (Intercontinental Exchange) in New York, where recommendations are made for improvements in contract rules and other matters related to the world trade of sugar. Member of PAPSAC, the Private and Public, Scientific, Academic and Consumer Food Policy Group, at Harvard University, in Boston, since 2012. Samir Somaiya Chairman, Godavari Biorefineries Ltd., Mumbai, India.

Shri. Samir Somaiya graduated from Cornell University with a Masters in Chemical Engineering in 1992. He secured a MBA from Cornell University in 1993 and a Masters of Public Administration from Harvard University in 2005. He won the American Institute of Chemical Engineer’s Award for Scholastic Achievement in 1989 and the American Institute of Chemists Award in 1990. He joined Godavari Biorefineries Ltd in 1993. He has taken the company forward through a focus on economic, social and environmental sustainability supported by research and innovation. Toby Cohen Vice President, Market Analysis, ASR Group, London, United Kingdom (Invited)

Toby Cohen is Vice President Market Research at ASR Group. ASR is the largest vertically integrated cane sugar refiner in the world. Toby has over 24 years of experience in commodity markets. He started work as a futures broker in 1990 and then moved into physical trading. In 1997 he was posted to Singapore where he experienced the impact of the Asian financial crisis on commodity markets. On his return to London in 1999 he became actively involved with Brazil before moving from trading to analysis in 2002. As Head of Analysis he sought to bridge the commercial needs of the physical business with economic disciplines. He was appointed to the board of Czarnikow Group in 2006 later becoming head of Czarnikow’s advisory business. He joined ASR in October 2014.

If a company has registered more than one delegate, we offer 5% extra discount for the second registration and the following until May 01, 2017. After this date, all registrations will be charged the full amount (1,350.00 USD).

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation and refund requests received until April 07, 2017 will be accepted with retention of an administration fee of 70% of the amount paid. After this date, retention will rise to 90% to cover committed costs. No refunds will be made for cancellation requests received after April 27, 2017. Substitution of delegates is welcome and can be made until the May 01, 2017.
